Recurring events and general information:

	Astronomy Group of Tavarnelle V.P. and Barberino V.E.“ The “astronomic observations” open to the public they are taken place in different days, usually tied up to other events like “Calici di stelle”. The telescopes are furnished and some pictures are shown and you can comment them both in English and in Italian
	Trekking Group Tavarnelle V.P. The group organizes some excursions by foot. You can find the program of the excursions and information on the Town Hall’s web site http://www.comune.tavarnelle-val-of-pesa.fi.it
	Badia a Passignano Monastery Generally, the church is open to the public, only during celebrations time. It is advisable, however, to directly go to the abbey and to ask for the visit.
	Sacred Art Museum of Pieve The museum is open to the public and with free entry, the Saturday and the Sunday from 4 pm to the 7 pm in the summer time, from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm during winter time. During the opening hours of the Museum it is possible to also visit the Parish of St. Pietro in Bossolo and also the part of the museum for “Punto di Tavarnelle”, the typical embroidery of our town
	S.Maria del Carmine al Morrocco Sanctuary: Generally, the church is open to the public only during celebrations time, but the nuns are always well prepared toward the visitors. It is advisable to directly turn to the Nuns Carmelitane of the Convent (close to the Sanctuary) and to ask for a visit, driven visits can be made in English.

MONTH BY MONTH:

• on every second Sundays there will be, in Tavarnelle, the little market of the craftsmanship and collecting. It will often be connected with other events
• May :”Frittella di Fiori di Cascia festival” (typical Tuscan sweet) in Sambuca V.P; “Festival of Pentecoste” near the Parish of St. Pietro in Bossolo, Tavarnelle; “Festival of the Music”; “Amico museo” tied up demonstration to the promotion of the museums of Tavarnelle; “Medieval Festival in Malmantile” – on May 29-30 and 5-6 June.
• June: “A passeggio per il centro” evening local market of craftsmanship and antique trades for the streets of Tavarnelle every Tuesday (up to September), with animation and music; “Processione fiorita” (Flowering Procession) for the day of the Corpus Domini a S. Donato in Poggio; “Festa dei Rioni” (Wards’ Festival) end June – beginning July, Tavarnelle.
• July: “Festa della Battitura” (Festival of the threshing) in Tavarnelle V.P.; “La piazza vive..” series of free concerts of various kind, in Tavarnelle; “Mercantia” in Certaldo Alto (about 15 km.) – medioeval Festival with small market and “artists on the road”; “Monteriggioni di torri si corona”" – in the days 2 3 4 and 9 10 11 July – medieval party in Monteriggioni with historical commemorations, shows and medieval craftsmanship.
• August: “Calici di stelle” tasting of different wines of the region and observation of the night-time sky (different towns of Chianti area).
• Dicember “The patron Festival – S. Lucia al Borghetto” – small market on the streets of Tavarnelle V.P. and various initiatives for the whole period that precedes the Christmas; the initiatives will extend him up to the Epiphany; “Olio Sapiens” – demonstration for the tasting, promotion and sale of the extra virgin olive oil.
